LTC Paul Fleming is a native of Killeen, Texas. He received his commission in the Field Artillery as a Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in December 2003.

After completing the Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he served with the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry as a Company Fire Support Officer. He was then assigned to 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery where he served as a Platoon Leader, COLT Platoon Leader and Battalion Assistant S3. Following his attendance at the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course in 2008-2009, LTC Fleming was assigned to the Contingency Command Post of the U.S. Army, Pacific at Fort Shafter, Hawaii as a Fires and Maneuver Planner. He then moved to 2nd Battalion, 11th Field Artillery at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as the Assistant Brigade Fire Support Officer and Assistant Battalion S3. LTC Fleming then transitioned to Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he commanded Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 31st Field Artillery, then Headquarters and Headquarter Battery, 434th Field Artillery Brigade and finally, Headquarters Detachment, Fires Center of Excellence. After completion of the Command and General Staff Officer Course, LTC Fleming served as a Future Operations Planner for the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Red Cloud, Republic of Korea. Following this assignment, LTC Fleming returned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as the Brigade Fire Support Officer for 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. He then served as the Battalion Operations Officer for the 2nd Battalion, 11th Field Artillery and the Executive Officer for the 25th Infantry Division Artillery. LTC Fleming then served as the Executive Officer for the Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army, Pacific. LTC Fleming’s most recent assignment has been as the Deputy Fire Support Coordinator for the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.

LTC Fleming’s operational experience includes deployments to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM III (2005), OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 2007-2008, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM/NEW DAWN in 2010-2011.

His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, and Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. LTC Fleming and his wife Laura, an Army Brat formerly of Plantation, Florida, have been married for 19 years. They have three children, Grace (age 18), Claire (age 14) and Riley (age 12). .
